Care Call Systems.
The Care-Call home unit has been designed to protect and assist people living in their own homes and can be used with or without an ordinary telephone.
Potential Users
The Care Call system has a number of potential professional and industrial applications. These applications are varied and include improving the quality of care and lifestyle of people suffering from various health conditions including the elderly, the physically challenged and the chronically ill. Care-Call also offers protection to users both young and old such as latch-key children, young families, bank personnel, post office staff, supermarkets and isolated retail outlets, nursing homes, hospital staff and teachers.
Operation.
Pressing the red button on the Care-Call home unit automatically dials either Our designated Alarm Receiving Centre or any of ten personal pre-set telephone numbers such as a friend or relative. The home unit will continue to dial the personal pre-set numbers in sequential order until somebody answers the call. The Care-Call home unit contains a powerful loudspeaker and sensitive microphone, so that the user is able to carry out a hands-free two-way conversation.
Speech Pendant
The Care-Call pendant panic button is surrounded by a protective rim and is activated when the panic button is pressed for one second. This has been designed into the system to prevent activation when the pendant is dropped or accidentally pressed, which will minimise false alarm activations.
The pendant has three Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) which inform the user what is going on after the panic button has been pressed. On pressing the panic button for a period of one second all three LEDs, red, orange and green, will illuminate for three seconds along with an audible tone. The orange and green LEDs will then go off, leaving just the red LED illuminated.
On receipt of the alarm signal from the pendant the home unit will start to dial the pre-programmed telephone numbers and inform the user that it is doing so by only the orange LED being illuminated. Once a connection has been made and recipient has pressed the * key on their telephone accepting the alarm call, the Care-Call home unit will then send a signal back to the pendant and now only the green LED will be illuminated, informing the user that they can now speak into the microphone on pendant and listen to the monitoring station or the recipient via the loudspeaker within the pendant.
